For over 25 years, the Super Chipmunk was legendary stunt pilot Art Scholl’s personal ride — used to perform a unique and breathtaking aerial routine that culminated in his signature move, the “Inverted Ribbon Pickup”.
Great Planes brings back this celebrated aircraft in an Almost-Ready-to-Fly, IMAA-legal scale model that captures the look of his Super Chipmunk in superb detail. Best of all, it’s capable of recreating all of the dazzling moves that made it a favorite at airshows...just as it will be at your local flying field.
- The wings and stabilizer feature built-up balsa and plywood construction, and are factory-covered in three brilliant colors of Top Flite® MonoKote® film.
- The fiberglass fuselage, cowl, wheel pants and landing gear fairings enhance the plane’s scale profile without extra work, and are painted to match.
- The cockpit interior is superbly detailed, and includes instrument panel decals and a pilot figure.
- Routing tubes inside the fuselage take the guesswork out of installing pushrods, and each flap and aileron is powered by its own standard-sized servo.
"Those aspiring to become proficient aerobatic pilots can now put themselves at the controls of a proven performer. In just hours modelers can have a scale replica of Art Scholl’s Super Chipmunk, right down to the trim scheme. And it flies as sharp as it looks — capable of stunning maneuvers before slowing to a smooth, stable landing.”
