AT-6 Texan ARF (GPMA1245) Tech Notice
For those having problems installing the wing, with the fairing, to the fuselage:
Install the wing, without the fairing, to the fuselage. Notice the slight amount of gap between the wing saddle and the proposed area of the plastic wing fairing. There should be about a 3/32" gap between the two. Now, look at the front of the wing where the wing dowels enter the fuselage. There should also be about a 3/32" gap between the furthest forward section of the wing and the fuselage. By looking at these two gaps, you can get the idea of how close your wing fairing will have to fit.
Because the wing is a built-up structure, variations in assembly of the wing can occur. This means the wing fairing may be slightly larger than the opening of the wing in some cases. Slide the wing fairing onto the wing dowels. Press the fairing until the forward inside lip of the fairing is resting against the furthest forward edge of the wing. Make note if the fairing is resting on top of the wing, or into the recess. If the fairing is resting on top of the wing, you must trim the wing fairing down to fit into the recess. Carefully trim the aft edge of the fairing until the top of the fairing is flush with the top of the wing when installed. The sides may also require trimming to fit properly. If the sides of the fairing are not resting flush with the wing, or are preventing the fairing from being pressed against the forward edge of the wing, then trim the sides as necessary.
Once the fairing is resting flush with the wing, on both the sides and top, test fit the wing to the fuselage. If the fairing has been trimmed properly, the wing will fit without any problems.
