"I'm really thrilled with how accurately Great Planes reproduced the trim scheme of my Eagle 580 on their models. As an R/C pilot and IMAC competitor myself, I enjoy flying them almost as much as the full-size aircraft!"

Matt Chapman
Commercial & Air Show Pilot |

"This Eagle 580 accepts glow or electric power and offers dramatic 3D potential with the looks of an air show favorite — all in a popular .46 size. You can't get any closer to piloting from Matt Chapman's perspective without being right in the cockpit."

Since learning to fly in 1979, Matt Chapman's career has covered plenty of ground – from flight instructor to airline officer to air show performer and world-renown competitive aerobatic champion.
He currently pilots the stunning Embry-Riddle Eagle 580, one of only six such aircraft flying today. Matt's Eagle spans 24 feet and uses a 330hp Lycoming IO-580 engine. It has a 240 mph top speed and 400° per second roll rate. Officially licensed and available only from Great Planes, the Eagle 580 .46 sport-scale ARF brings the excitement of a Matt Chapman air show to your favorite flying site...with you at the controls. As these images demonstrate, it's as aggressive in action as the full-size plane – with the same brilliant trim scheme and graphics leaving a contrail of color behind. |

| Painted fiberglass parts and die-cut decals easily recreate the signature look of Matt Chapman's full-size Eagle 580. The large Embry-Riddle logo underneath the wing is part of the expertly factory-applied MonoKote film covering. |
This Eagle showcases Great Planes' finest ARF construction. The main assemblies arrive built and covered, control surfaces (except rudder) are pre-hinged – and the cockpit comes complete with installed pilot bust! |
| You'll find plenty of room in the Eagle 580's fuselage to install your on-board equipment. Powerful magnets secure the hatch but allow easy removal and reattachment. |
The tail control surfaces are airfoiled for crisp, clean flight performance. All control surfaces are large for 3D maneuvers. |
| The foam-core, balsa-sheeted wing and stabilizer halves slide together onto carbon fiber joiner tubes, aligning automatically. Assembly is easy and epoxy-free. |
| Instructions and mounting parts are included for installing a 2-stroke or 4-stroke glow engine or a brushless electric power system. Use whichever you prefer – no modifications are necessary. Aluminum motor mount sold separately. |
